Microsoft has announced a new incentive for students where they can get a free Xbox One console with the purchase of a Surface Pro 4.
The deal is going to run for a limited time period, now until August 14, and is only valid through the official Microsoft Store. According to the announcement, consumers need to add both the Surface Pro 4 and Xbox One items in their carts; the system will automatically deduct the price of Xbox One before checking out.
While Microsoft has not clarified, it’s assumed that the deal is only good for the standard edition Xbox One console and not for the ones that come bundled with additional items. Incidentally, the deal arrives just after the company announced it would be discontinuing its more affordable line of Surface 3 devices by the end of 2016.
Earlier this month, Microsoft officially announced Project Scorpio and Xbox One S during its E3 2016 press conference. The former is the much rumored upgraded iteration of Xbox One that is going to pack a lot more power and performance capabilities, but is going to launch in fall 2017. The Xbox One S, on the other hand, is a slimmer variant of the standard console, and will release this fall.
