Platinum Games’ highly anticipated Scalebound received a new gameplay trailer during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference.
Renowned Game Director Hideki Kamiya took the stage to debut the demonstration, which alongside the game itself also highlighted the co-op functionality. Four players joined forces to take down a behemoth monster which threatened to annihilate the players and their dragons. The battle spread across multiple platforms, between mindless hacking-slashing, to flying over a giant lake to get in close to the crab-like monster.
Scalebound was previously anticipated for a release in late 2016. However, Platinum Games delayed the game until 2017. During E3 2016, the developer confirmed that Scalebound is scheduled to now launch sometime next year for Xbox One and PC. Let’s hope that it’s not delayed any further.
The title will support Microsoft’s new Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, allowing fans to purchase the game on one platform and play on the other for free. As announced by the publisher, the Xbox Play Anywhere program is designed to track your progress and achievement on both platforms. This means that you can play on either Xbox One or Windows 10 PC, and still carry the same progression.
