The Technomancer offers several quests where the player is forced to choose a single outcome from a variety of given choices. Each chosen outcome has its own impact on the storyline, and associated rewards or gains.
Quest: Fighting for Abundance > Break the Opposition
The second mission from the main “Fighting for Abundance” storyline tasks you to track down a bomb in the Slums before it explodes. This quest begins from the main market area where you’ll have to bribe a beggar for information and then sneak off to spy on enemy agents. When you finally reach the bomb’s location, you’ll be given two choices. However, if you choose option b, the game will also offer you a third option c (mentioned below):
a) Keep the bomb, Let her escape
Gain: 2,000 XP, +2 Karma, +10 Reputation with The Opposition
b) Arrest her
Gain: 1,000 XP, Bulgakov’s Gun
Loss: -5 Reputation with The Opposition
c) Kill her
Gain: 1,000 XP, Dagger and Gun (Requires 3 Agility)
Loss: -2 Karma, -10 Reputation with The Opposition
It really comes down to whether you’re interested in the new weapons or not. Do note that the Agility requirement is high for this period of the game, and you can always find better alternatives later on. Also keep in mind that the Karma system is pretty wonky in the game and will rarely affect the storyline in any major. The additonal reputation points could be beneficial in the long run.
