Ubisoft has been sending out surveys to random Rainbow Six Siege players, asking them about what they want to see included “in the future season pass.”
According to the leaked survey, Ubisoft is looking to include more perks in the second year. This covers new uniforms, a monthly skin subscription (1 exclusive skin per month), and additional exclusive customization items.
Note that the company has yet to officially announce a new Season Pass for the game. Based on the survey though, it seems like an announcement shouldn’t be that far ahead.
Is it surprising to know that Rainbow Six Siege could possibly get a second Season Pass for another year’s worth of content? Surely not. The tactical first-person shooter is approaching its one-year anniversary and that means Ubisoft has one last downloadable content pack to deliver to end the year’s promise of content.
Based on how popular the game has become, it has always been deemed an unlikely event for Ubisoft to simply leave its player-base hanging. As for the current Season Pass, it was made clear prior to the game’s release that it would only cover content for the first year. Even then it was understood that the developer will most probably introduce another Season Pass in the game’s second year.
Unlike other multiplayer games, Rainbow Six Siege’s DLC plans do not isolate the player-base. Operators and Maps are given away to everyone for free. Season Pass owners only get early and instant access to Operators, exclusive cosmetic items and discounts in the in-game store.
It’s safe to say that Ubisoft plans to continue this trend with the second pass. “We want players to stay with us for the long term and have ambitious post-launch plans that we will detail at a later stage,” the company said prior to Siege’s release.
Rainbow Six Siege received Operation Skull Rain DLC in early August, which added two more Operators and a new map. The developer is now expected to release the fourth and final DLC, said to be Japanese-themed, somewhere in November.
