Rumors pertaining to Crackdown 3 making an appearance this week during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference have been further fueled with a new development.
A fellow forum member has discovered a teaser website for the upcoming sandbox third-person shooter game that refers to the user as an “agent” and lists a bunch of “Mission Dates”.
Thank You, Agent. The supersecret agency that cannot be named has been notified of your choice. You’ve earned $2/$10 toward your agency pension. Keep an eye on your inbox.
The first date mentioned is June 10, after which a weekly date is set until the end of the month. Since nothing was announced officially this week, it can be assumed that June 10 was simply the date for when the teaser set was uploaded. The next date is set for June 17 after E3 2016. What’s the possibility that Microsoft intends to make an announcement during its press briefing tomorrow and then launch a beta later in the week? That could be a possibility since the website also mentions “BETA_INIT”. As for the reference to how players can earn “$2/$10” towards their agency pension, that remains a mystery.
It’s been almost a year since we last heard anything about Crackdown 3. At Gamescom 2015, publisher Microsoft and developer Reagent Games talked about how the game is going to utilize the power of cloud computing to power the game’s complex physics system.
Crackdown 3 remains with a tentative release date. According to statements passed by series creator Dave Jones and Microsoft spokespersons, the game’s multiplayer mode should be playable by the end of summer 2016. The complete game is expected to release by the end of the year.
