Horizon: Zero Dawn received a new gameplay trailer at Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, showcasing the beautiful post-apocalyptic world envisioned by Guerrilla Games.
The open-world action role-playing game is going to have you fill the shoes of a skilled hunter named Aloy, as she explores a vibrant but dangerous world inhabited by giant mechanized creatures. The existence of the machines makes her question the past and wonder what events took place to lead to the current era. However, she will need to leave her tribe behind if she is to answer all these questions, a decision that does not fare well with some of her tribesmen.
In the trailer, Aloy is shown hunting a mechanical monster by firing arrows while riding a Darpa dog.
Coming in from the Killzone franchise, Guerrilla Games has not only focused a lot on the combat factor but also the narrative aspect. Sony has promised a “compelling and emotional journey” which will unravel the mystery of the state of the world.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is another game from Sony that had to be delayed. Originally slated for a launch in fall this year, the PlayStation 4 exclusive will now hit shelves on February 28 next year. It remains as a highly anticipated release from Sony’s camp.
