PlayStation VR will officially launch on October 13 in North America for the price of $399.99, Sony announced during its E3 2016 press conference.

Previously known under the codename “Project Morpheus,” the device has been hailed as a great cheaper alternative to experience optimal virtual reality experience. Over 200 games are said to be currently in development for the headset, leaving us to wonder just how many of them will be available for purchase when PlayStation VR launches in October.

Sony is currently offering four VR games that you can pre-order from the company’s official store:

  • PlayStation VR Worlds – $39.99
  • RIGS Mechanized Combat League – $59.99
  • Tumble VR – $7.99
  • Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – $19.99

Additionally, we got to see a couple of brief trailers for other PlayStation VR titles like “Here They Lie” and “Farpoint Below”, as well as Star Wars: Battlefront – X-Wing VR Mission and Batman: Arkham VR.

Speaking of which, Sony confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront – X-Wing VR Mission is going to release for free for Star Wars: Battlefront this fall. The VR fan-camp would also be pleased to know that PlayStation Move controllers will be available in a two-pack bundle for $99.99 USD. These controllers are going to be necessary for most of the games.
