While Valve has yet to drop an official confirmation, PayPal is claiming that this year’s Steam Summer Sale is going to commence from next week.
Earlier today, the official PayPal UK Twitter account tweeted that the sale would begin on June 23. At this point it has to be pointed out that the same date was leaked last month by a Reddit user. Provided that the news is legitimate, the previous leak claimed that the sale would run from 9:45 a.m. PT on June 23 until July 4 at 10 a.m. PT. Since PayPal has indeed leaked previous Steam sales as well, this news is probably true.

There’s no information on what new discounts and offers we’ll be seeing this summer. Steam’s last sale saw Valve change a few things around. It’s customary for any game to come on sale at better prices more than once during a sale. A specific title may pop up with a 50 percent discount but then also receive a 75 percent discount later in the week. This is why most Steam users tend to wait it out before making a purchase. However, during Steam’s last sale, all prices and discounts were fixed. We’ll see if the same happens with the upcoming Summer Sale.
