Rest easy fellow gamers, Sony has confirmed at its E3 2016 press conference that The Last Guardian is going to officially launch on October 25 for PlayStation 4.
The Last Guardian also received a new trailer from Sony, giving us a more in-depth look at the game and changes since development began all those years back. The new footage focuses more on puzzle-solving and how you work together with the strange chimera creature to make your way forward.
With the dismayal history of the game, you really can’t blame anyone for wondering whether Sony would delay the game yet again. The title began development nine years ago and throughout this period, the game exchanged numerous hands. It was widely believed that the project had been scrapped, until Sony surprised us at E3 2015 by announcing it, again, for PlayStation 4.
Hence, the confirmation of a release date will bring easy breathing for many out there. The Last Guardian was first unveiled at E3 2009 by Sony and Team Ico. It was originally meant to release for PlayStation 3 a couple of years after. However, development hell caused the schedule to stretch forward, until Sony decided to bring the game over to PlayStation 4 instead.
