The Black Friday-esque Amazon Prime Day is underway and you’d be a fool to miss out on some of the year’s best deals before the year’s best deals come along. This is Amazon’s second attempt to market its very own day for great deals and discount prices. It didn’t work out so well last year because all the best stuff sold out too early but Amazon has learned from the mistakes of the past and has some truly awesome products in store. Here are just a few.
Amazon Echo ($129.99)
Normally for $179.99, the Amazon Echo is $50 cheaper today and it’s a steal. Specially because this little gadget has become one of Amazon’s biggest earners and is quickly becoming a product Amazon can truly own. Even though there are alternatives out there, this little speaker/voice assistant stands out.
Huawei Watch ($175.99)
Normally for $350, this Android Wear Smartwatch works with both Android and iOS and looks good to boot. It has a silver-stainless steel, plain watch face with roman numerals (you can obviously change this) and a black leather strap, a classic look that never goes out of style and can work with literally anything. It’s a bit disappointing that other variations of this watch including one with a stainless steel strap and a variety of other colours isn’t available but this one isn’t bad.
Segway miniPRO ($699)
Normally for $999, the Segway miniPRO has 10.5-inch pneumatic air filled tyres, military grade shock absorption and ergonomic steering. The device can go a full 14 miles on a full charge at a top speed of 10 miles per hour. It comes in silver and black and can connect to a free Bluetooth app for control. It’s one smooth ride.
Amazon Fire TV Stick ($24.99)
Normally for $39.99, Amazon’s answer to the Roku stick leaves a little to be desired but at $25 you get Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now and that’s alright.
This TV usually costs you $1249 which means you’re getting it at half off. It delivers 4K, has built in WiFi and Bluetooth and you get 60 days of tech support free. Not that you’ll need it when you start binging Daredevil on Netflix as soon as you get it.
J&L Wireless Bluetooth Headphones ($9.99)
Having wireless headphones is fast becoming the norm and it should. I feel like they should’ve always worked this way. So many years of tangling cords and having to deal with the law of entropy has been frustrating as hell. The headphones usually cost $24.99 and are waterproof, specifically designed to deal with sweat and also delivers 8 hours of wireless listening on a single charge. They offer a 33 feet operating range and come with 3 tips and stabilizers to make sure they don’t fall off while you’re jogging.
Xbox One Bundle ($279.99)
This is truly a steal and what I’m really interested in. You get a 500 GB Xbox One with a $50 Amazon Gift card (physical card). But that’s not all, you also get Halo 5: Guardians (Limited Edition) Physical disc, Special Edition Dusk Shadow Wireless controller and a digital code for Forza Horizon 2 via email. But you can swap Halo 5 for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and Fallout 4 or Rainbow Six Siege. Take your pick.
