Activision has released 7 minutes of gameplay footage for Modern Warfare Remastered, featuring the memorable “Crew Expendable” mission that sees our favorite Captain Price rappel with his team onto a moving barge during the deathly hours of a thunderstorm.
The nightly stealth mission looks better than ever, with vastly improved textures and lighting. Additionally, it seems like Infinity Ward went a step beyond to even improve the game’s audio. Each pop from that silenced MP5 feels so satisfying, the shattering glass has more weight to it, and the waves crashing into the barge sound way more realistic.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is going to release later this year with the entire original single-player campaign. As for the multiplayer content, there’s much that the developer has to confirm. For now, we’ve been confirmed the inclusion of ten multiplayer maps from the original lot, each remastered in glorious perfection.
Modern Warfare Remastered is not going to be available for purchase separately. Instead, it is going to be part of the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and DIgital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Fans have expressed great disappointment over Activision’s decision to milk the remastered version in such manner. That being said, the game should become available as an independent purchase sometime post-release.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will be released November 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
