“The Smoking Tire Car Pack” releases today for Forza Horizon 3, introducing a good variety of cars for players to choose from.
There are seven new additions in total, including the 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade and the 2016 Vulcan “hypercar” from Aston Martin. There’s also the new Aston Martin Vulcan as well as my favorite, the Lotus 340R.
The Smoking Tire Car Pack is the first promised monthly DLC for Forza Horizon 3 which is part of the game’s $30 Car Pass. As promised by developer Playground Games, there will be six car packs in total. Combined, Forza Horizon 3 will receive 42 new cars by the end of March 2017. It’s unsure as to where the developer will head after that. It’s possible that Microsoft will sneak a few add-on packs from thereon, perhaps a few more cars to get the community moving forward until the next installment in the series.
Those without the Car Pass have to spend $7 to purchase the Smoking Tire Car Pack.
Here is the complete list of today’s additions:
- 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan
- 2000 Lotus 340R
- 2016 Pagani Huayra BC
- 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
- 2016 GTA Spano
- 2016 BMW M2 Coupé
- 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade
Forza Horizon 3 features multiple content packs. Most recently, Microsoft announced a $35 season pass that comes with two expansions, the first of which will be out this year. Then there’s the $100 Ultimate Edition which features a few special items like the Motorsports All-Stars Car Pack and a VIP membership. Both of these items go for $10 and $20 respectively.
Forza Horizon 3 launched just last week on September 27 for Xbox One and PC. It’s part of Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing users to purchase a console copy and get the PC version for free. The game took the No. 2 spot in UK sales this week, beating Forza Horizon 2 in terms of launch sales by a whole 12 percent. It had the third-highest launch week sales of any Forza/Forza Horizon game ever.
