Pokémon Go just received its latest update, bringing daily catch bonuses and improvements for Gyms as the two new features. As announced last week, players can earn bonuses for the first Pokémon catch of the day. Doing so seven days in a row entitle you to even bigger bonuses. Additionally, defeating Gym leaders give you a brief period of time where only ou can place Pokémon in the open Gym.
As exciting as the new update sounds, data miners were more interested in what lies hidden between the game’s code. According to fan-site TheSilphRoad, data miners have unearthed clues to over a hundred new monsters that should be released sometime in the future. If the leak is to be believed, generation 2 Pokémon monsters are on the way, with the game’s code now referencing all 100 critters from the Johto region.
The shape-shifting Ditto has once again been sighted. Following a discovery in July which pointed at his existence inside the game’s code, miners have now unearthed an APK file in Ditto’s name.
Niantic Labs is yet to comment on the findings but based on past leaks from data miners, they have pretty much been on point. Hence, it’s safe to say that the developer has a lot of new Pokémon critters in the works for Pokémon Go.
Recently, Niantic Labs confirmed that it’s testing a new version of the Nearby Pokémon feature. Following San Francisco, the feature has been brought to “parts of Arizona” with more expansion scheduled in the coming months.
In other news, Pokémon Go may have waned in popularity but the recent Halloween event shot it straight back to the top of the App Store charts. The message is clear, the Pokémon Go community is always going to return if Niantic can provide good enough content.
