Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is Capcom’s latest attempt at pursuing the horror franchise brought upon by the evil doings of the Umbrella Corporation.
The upcoming frightful installment is getting its very own Collector’s Edition that is exclusive to official GameStop outlets. For now, it’s unknown as to whether other retailers will offer the same bundle as well or if they plan on introducing their own version of a Collector’s Edition.
Priced hellishly at $180, the Resident Evil 7 Collector’s Edition features an impressive replica of the Baker mansion that players will be exploring in the actual game. According to an official listing, it stands 8 inches tall, is 7.5 inches long and 8.5 inches deep. The decrepit replica is a creepy music box in disguise, playing the familiar tune of the game’s theme song, “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”. There are also LED effects that are synced with the spooky music.
Additionally, the premium bundle packs a 4 GB USB drive designed as a gross severed finger. There’s a lithograph featuring the Baker family and a “creepy note” from them. Furthermore, the bundle includes a VHS tape box to house the finger (or any other small object) and a copy of the game that comes with a metal case.
All of the contents of the Collector’s Edition are packed in a box resembling a section of the mansion, showcasing the silhouette of a person staring out one of the windows.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is scheduled to release on January 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The franchise may have waned in recent times but Capcom expects to sell at least 4 million copies. Only a couple of months remain for us to see if the company’s forecast is accurate.
