Noctua has fully shown the support for its broad range of loyal customers by giving free mounting kits to those who upgrade from previous LGA to incoming Intel LGA2066 platform. Noctua will not charge a single penny and will give premium-class SecuFirm2 mounting kits free of charge to customers who will upgrade their heat sinks.
This was confirmed by CEO Noctua Roland Mossig as he mentioned:
We’re determined to provide the best possible support to our customers and, over the years, we’ve sent many thousands of mounting kits free of charge to users who wanted to upgrade to new platforms. With Skylake-X just around the corner, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll extend this offer for LGA2066. Owners of older Noctua retail heatsinks that don’t support LGA2011/LGA2066 out of the box will be able to upgrade to the new socket free of charge!
Who can avail the free upgrade offer?
The new Noctua model codenamed NM-i20xx will be compatible with LGA2011 and LGA2066 platforms. The new Noctua’s SecuFirm 2 mounting supports LGA2011 and the upcoming SkyLake-X and KabyLake-X processors. All the users’ of older Noctua heat sink that does not support SecuFirm 2, will get a free upgrade.
How can you avail the free upgrade offer?
In order to avail NM-i20xx heat sink as free upgrade a proof of purchase is required. The proof can be an electronic purchase, a screenshot, a photo or scan of invoice of both Noctua GPU cooler either an Intel LGA2066 CPU or Intel LGA2066 motherboard will be required. If you do not have the required proof of purchase data then kits can be purchased separately in stores for low service charge.
