Qualcomm has revealed its Snapdragon 660 and 630 chipsets, which aim to bring high-end performance for mid-range phones/devices. Qualcomm says that after Snapdragon 660 and 630 chipsets, you will not need a flagship mobile to experience high-end performance.

Snapdragon 660 and 630

Kedar Kondap, VP of product management praised Qualcomm’s Snapdagon 660 and 630 chipsets by saying that:

With the introduction of the Snapdragon 660 and 630 Mobile Platforms, we are thrilled that features such as improved image quality and fast LTE speeds will now be available in a wide array of devices without sacrificing performance or quality

Qualcomm furthermore tells that Snapdragon 660 will be a significant improvement over Snapdragon 653, in that it will boost a 20 percent improvement in CPU performance and 30 percent improvement in GPU performance over its predecessor. So all the power hungry users who love to play games or churn out the maximum power of GPU and CPU from applications, well, 2017 chips are just for you.

In similar fashion, Snapdragon 630 will be a potential jump from its predecessor Snapdragon 626. It will feature a 10 percent boost in CPU performance and 30% in GPU performance.

Both the chipsets will have support upgraded features as:

  • Better battery life
  • Quick Charge 4 technology
  • X12 LTE Modem
  • Bluetooth 5 support
  • 60% lower power consumption at WiFi

Qualcomm has been consistently jumping towards an efficient technology and sustainable chipsets than the predecessor chips.
