Microsoft apparently has a few surprises up its sleeve, which it plans on revealing during its press conference at E3 2017 next month.
According to industry insider shinobi602, the company has finalized marketing material for a “major unannounced AAA” project on the Xbox One. However, there is no information on what genre the mysterious game will boast, and neither is there any detail to indicate if we will be seeing an exclusive addition to the console’s library.
So there's a major unannounced AAA that Microsoft has marketing on. Not bad Xbox. Bring on E3.

Do recall that Rise of the Tomb Raider, a fantastic installment, was the product of a similar marketing deal between Microsoft and Square Enix. The action-adventure experience was released as a timed-exclusive game on the Xbox One, and later arrived on PlayStation 4. Hence, we might see a similar handling of platforms and the new project could very well be a timed-exclusive release on the Xbox One. In addition, considering the recent approach of Microsoft, even if the game is exclusive to consoles, there is a likelihood of seeing it arrive on PC through the Windows 10 Store.
The Xbox One is desperate for exclusive titles this year. With the cancellation of Scalebound earlier this year, there is a concern that Microsoft may no longer be prioritizing exclusive releases. In comparison, Sony has a long lineup of upcoming content just for its latest console; including God of War, The Last of Us Part II, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Days Gone. Let’s not also forget the recent release of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Nioh, and NieR: Automata.
Xbox One currently only has Crackdown 3 and Halo Wars 2 to look forward to. Microsoft will hopefully be expanding that list with a few more surprise announcements at E3 2017.
