The global player-base of Battlefield 1 has further strengthened in numbers in the past couple of months. Back in May, publisher Electronic Arts announced that the community was nineteen million strong. Now, though, those numbers have jumped by another two million by the end of last month.
“Battlefield 1 had more than 21 million players joining the game as of quarter end,” reads an earnings report from the first quarter of 2018.
Battlefield 1 is currently paving way to the release of its second expansion pack, In the Name of the Tsar, in September. It introduces the Russian army, alongside new weaponry and multiplayer maps. Players will ride “with the legendary Hussars” while also taking part in the historic Brusilov offensive and Albion assault. According to the publisher, the latest World War first-person shooter will “continue to evolve as a content-rich live service.”
There is no word on when Turning Tides, the third expansion pack, is slated for launch. As revealed previously, it will focus on naval warfare and introduce a new destroyer and coastal class airships. Players should get ready to storm the beaches of Gallipoli as early as the start of next year.
The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass can be obtained for $49.99. Owners get two weeks of early access to each expansion pack, priority server access, and over a dozen superior-level Battlepacks that feature various in-game cosmetic upgrades for your weapons and vehicles.
