AMD Ryzen Threadripper sport a X399 based socket and since its now out, a cheaper motherboard ASUS ROG STRIX X399-E has been spotted. This motherboard will cost less than the X399 flagship motherboard ROG Zenith Extreme, eventually the X399-E will be a cheaper alternative.
Additionally, regardless of cheaper board, ASUS ROG STRIX X399-E will still pack following hardware specifications:
4 x PCIe x16 slots
6 x SATA 6Gbps
2 x M.2
1 x PCIe 3.0 x4 with single x1 port
1 x U.2
ASUS ROG STRIX X399-E motherboard is expected to launch somewhere later this month or next month, September.
Till now, the known X399 architecture based motherboards are Gigabyte X399AORUS Gaming 7, ASUS X399 ROG Zenith Extreme, ASROCK X399 Professional Gaming and ASROCK X399 Taichi.
AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors are targeted for PC enthusiasts only, since its packs massive core count and even more number of threads. Intel also aims to launch its core i9 processors for PC enthusiasts, but Threadripper processor is comparatively cheap and may come out with liquid cooler out of the box. This source information is more than enough to shake the faith of Intel fans that look forward to the launch of Core i9. Core i9 will most likely come with stock cooler that too at an additional price along with the base CPU. On the contrary, you will get additional liquid cooler in total price of a Threadripper CPU.
