Gran Turismo Sport will be the first installment in the renowned franchise to grace the PlayStation 4 platform. It is surprising as it is that the franchise was not there at the very beginning when the console arrived nearly four years ago. Nonetheless, Gran Turismo Sport is just months away from its official release and Sony is commemorating the occasion with a special surprise for collectors and fans alike.

Posting on the official PlayStation blog, president of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi announced a limited edition PlayStation 4 console bundle for the game. It features the slim model and comes with 1 TB of internal storage. In addition, the body of the console boasts a silver face-plate with the Gran Turismo logo. The controller shares a similar silver theme and also features the logo on the touch-bar.

In addition, the limited edition console bundle will include a day-one edition of the game. Owners will get access to $250,000 in-game credits, livery sticker packs, a chrome racing helmet, and sixty PlayStation 4 avatars.

Take note that the Gran Turismo Sport Limited Edition bundle will be made available at only select retailers. It will launch alongside the game on October 18. Those interested should place in their pre-orders as soon as possible because the limited edition bundle will only be available in small quantities.

Sony has confirmed that there will be other console bundles for the game as well, with the Amateur edition coming in three flavours and the PlayStation 4 Pro getting its own pack. Prices have yet to be announced.

The latest installment in the racing franchise was originally slated for a release last year but was delayed in order to give the development team additional time to “perfect” the game. It has been a long time coming and will hopefully not disappoint fans.
