Those who have been patiently waiting for more information about Red Dead Redemption 2 will finally have something new to chew on next week.

Rockstar Games took to social media platforms yesterday to tease some kind of announcement for the highly anticipated and long-awaited sequel. It will take place on Thursday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. ET. Without any further details, we can only assume that the developer might be releasing another trailer to highly single-player elements or the story-line from the campaign.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was revealed last October for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Since then, fans have been starved for more information. We do know that the plot will have “incredible emotional depth” and a deal in place with Sony will grant PlayStation 4 access first for a limited time to some online content.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally slated to release this fall but was then delayed to spring next year. There is no word on a PC version. However, looking back at Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive might bring that port out after it is done with consoles.

The original Red Dead Redemption released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in May 2010. The open wild west setting, third-person gun-slinging combat, great narrative, excellent voice acting, and amazing visuals (for the time) was highly praised by critics. It is widely considered as one of the best video games of all time, which is why there is great anticipation for the sequel.
