It’s meagre to say that Zelda is a very well-known name within the gaming world. Being hailed by many as one of the best videogame franchises ever made, with some of the best gaming experiences to be offered, The Legend Of Zelda has a whole history of critical acclaim for its rusted theme of adventure and fantasy. The newest title coming in May 2023 is looking to hold itself as the biggest Zelda title made to date, with high anticipation throughout the gaming audience, even winning the title of Most Anticipated Game in The Game Awards 2022. The title is coming as the sequel to the last Zelda title which itself needs no Introduction, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the wild. Zelda Botw got hailed as a technical marvel and a game-changer for the industry, paving a new path for the open-world genre with seamless storyline progress in all directions. The title seemingly ignited and carried the streak of the Nintendo Switch to go on and become one of the most successful and most profitable videogame consoles ever made.
The question hence rises, will The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom be as big of a videogame marvel as its previous title?

The Zelda name is known because of the dedicated development team that lead it to greatness for all these years. It is the same development theme that started with plans of additional content for Zelda Botw but then carried on with so much vision and ideas that they ended up making a whole sequel to it. That’s how the idea of Tears of the Kingdom first came, and now after more than 5 years since Zelda Botw’s release, the developers have been cooking with all their concepts and will finally serve their product in May 2023. However, as usual, the team is only given a very small glimpse of the game yet in the latest Nintendo Direct.
How would people not poke at the idea of how the new title will handle in comparison to Botw, the acclaimed title took the videogame world by storm winning Game of the Year Titles, with critics hailing it as one of the best games ever made. It’s only a very standard that has been set for Totk by its previous game because everyone wants to be blown away all over again like they were with Botw. So will Totk prove to be the near-perfect sequel to the near-perfect Botw?

The main information that we can go with to predict what’s to come is mainly two things; first the history of the Zelda Development Team, and second the newest trailer that showcased some minimal gameplay.
The Zelda Development Team:
These people are the best of the best, coming forth as the most dedicated people at Nintendo that look to make the best possible thing they can. It has been a long-running streak of great games. Looking as some examples are Link’s Awakening, The Minish Cap, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Link Between Worlds, and Zelda titles paving the way to be considered one of the best titles for their appropriate consoles. The Switch started with Breath of the Wild and the streak was not broken. So why would anyone expect it to be broken now, when everyone knows the Developers are aiming for near perfection once more, giving ample time, polish, and dedication to making Tears of the Kingdom? Sorry if I may have taken the turn too hard towards my own view as I’m a fan myself, but I truly think it is relatively safe for me to get my hopes way up. I wasn’t let down before, nor do I think I will be this time.
The Nintendo Direct Zelda Totk Trailer:
Although a very small look, the latest trailer did show off much of what the game would be offering to the fans. The world is the same one from Botw, but it’s completely different now. You’ll be looking towards the skies to carry on the story, with plenty of new gameplay mechanics and content that’ll aim to perfect the near-perfect experience that was Breath of the Wild. There are many new concepts that will glorify the same open world of Botw.

The performance of the trailers looked as smooth as its prequel too, but the graphics did seem finer in comparison. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will look to appear the best it can for what the switch will offer it, and the performance comes to be as smooth as Botw’s. Considering all technical comparisons, there certainly does seem to be an oomph from Totk, the same way as how Botw had everyone mesmerized when it was teased.

Nothing can be said with full confirmation because it will only be so after everyone experiences the Tears of the Kingdom first-hand. But to look at the game with all the hype that has been created within the fanbase, it truly is a wonderful experience to talk about a game that could very well be the best-ever Zelda title made so far, or not. Your choice to lean in which direction. As for an objective view, it can be supposed that Nintendo has its biggest title for the switch yet coming soon as they look to the future of their current console run and the face of their company. There is bound to be more news in the future before the game is officially released in May 2023.
