From thrilling action series to heartwarming slice-of-life tales, there is something for everyone to look forward to in the world of anime this year. We’ll be take a closer look at some of the most exciting anime releases to keep an eye on in 2023.

5. Demon Slayer Season 3

Demon Slayer was one of the most popular anime last year with the movie covering the infinity train arc, and the series using their first few episodes to cover the movie as well. The second half of season 2 covered the entertainment district arc which captivated audiences with its high level of animation, compelling character build up (especially for the main villains of the arc), and beautiful soundtrack to accompany it.

Well Fans will not have to wait long for season 3 as it has been reported to be released in April 2023. Judging by the trailer the first half of the season will most likely cover all of the Swordsmith Village arc and the second half covering the Hashira Training arc. With Ufotable Studio producing the series and giving it their all, anime fans should be delighted by the third season of Demon Slayer about as much as they always were.

4. Hell’s Paradise

Another anime coming out in April of 2023 is Hell’s Paradise. While most will have only heard of this series in passing, the people who have read the manga know that this anime if done right will most likely become a darling of the anime world as soon as it appears on screen. With Mappa Studio taking the responsibility of animating this series it is bound to become a fan favorite in no time.

The story itself will follow Gabimaru, a deadly wanted assassin, who is captured and given a death sentence. Of course, he is given the chance to escape his death by travelling to a mysterious island which is said to hide the elixir of immortality and bring it back for the Shogun. The story itself will take viewers on a journey of mystery and desperation, so viewers should be ready for an interesting experience.

3. Mashle

If you’re looking for something comedic Mashle might just be the best thing to come out for you. Mashle: Magic and Muscles will be a new anime coming out in Spring of 2023 and will be made by Aniplex Studios.

In a world of magic and fantasy Mash plays a boy without any magical abilities at all, leaving him to use his amazing brute strength to compete in his class of witches and warlocks. With the aim to claim the top ranking among of his classmates. And comedy ensues as brute strength goes up against magic. This will definitely be a comedy worth looking forward to.

2. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

Another Studio Mappa hitter is Jujutsu Kaisen which came out with its first season 2020 and quickly made the list for one of the best shows that year. The animation and story have already gripped fans all over and have fans waiting on the edge of their seat for season 2. And Mappa aims to deliver season 2 of JJK in the Summer of 2023.

As we can see from the trailer we will be going from 2017 where the anime originally starts with Yuji Itadori and going backwards by 11 years, focusing on Gojo and his relationship with Geto. Of course, we will also be seeing Toji Fushiguro who is Megumi’s father and what went on before Yuji and Megumi came into the picture. While the Gojo’s past arc will cover most likely the first half of the season, we can expect the second half to cover the long-awaited Shibuya Incident arc, which is said to be one of the best arcs of the series and is also called by most as the turning point from where the anime turns from a good story to a great one. Fans should look forward to what happens in the second season and how it effects Yuji and some of the other characters in the JJK world.

1. Attack on Titan The Final Season (Part 3)

It seems like Mappa Studio is dominating with the level of anime they are producing at the moment, and there is no anime that can even compete in terms of being hyped as much as Attack on Titan. Even though the Final season has been split into 3 parts this time, the fans of the series can not wait to see this final 3rd part adapted into anime form and see what the ending of this series is going to be.

With the trailer giving us not just an exact date but also the exact time it will release, fans will eagerly be waiting to see how the war will end and where Eren will end up by the end of it. The second and final part of the series will most likely be expected to release by the end of 2023 as well so look forward to seeing the end of the Attack on Titan era with a hopefully beautiful send off that we expect from Mappa Studios.
