The Top 10 Strongest Anime Characters

With so many new anime entering the fold each year, and with it many fans have wondered which characters from all these new and old anime would do when ranked amongst each other, especially, in terms of strength.

Of course, this is not to say, that this list will be the rule and many fans will also disagree with the ranking as well. And this list will take into account many of the characters abilities, fighting skills, endurance, and the world they inhabit.

10. Kageyama Shigo A.K.A Mob (Mob Psycho 100)

Yup, that’s right, this average looking high schooler might not look like anything special but his psychic abilities are no joke. Give him a reason to fight and you’ll find that he might be the toughest opponent you’ll face, with his psychic abilities letting him take down enemies in mere seconds. With him being most likely the strongest person in his universe.

The reason for his low rank on the list however is due to his lack of endurance, due to having such a weak body and low stamina. He might just have the power to bend the whole world to his will but him up against any normal teenager in a arm wrestling match and he will probably lose pretty quickly.

9. Cid Kagenou (The Eminence In Shadow)

The Eminence in Shadow is a new anime and anyone who has watched the first season knows how strong the main protagonist of the series is. With the aim of being a background character by day and fighting evil organizations by night, this protagonist proves his strength in the series by dominating anyone and everyone who would dare pick a fight with him. Not to mention his unique OP ability “I am Atomic!” Which is said to be as strong as a nuclear bomb.

8. Meliodas (Seven Deadly Sins)

Melodias from Seven Deadly Sins is the strongest demon of the series. Not only is he the strongest demon but he is also considered immortal as well. Beating out the Demon King, his father, and taking his place on the throne making him the ruler and strongest being of the series as well.

7. Meruem (Hunter X Hunter)

Meruem is one of the main antagonists of Hunter X Hunter’s Chimera ant arc (Hunter X Hunter’s best arc) and is widely considered one of the strongest characters the anime had to offer. With his level of intellect and ability to adapt to any situation, being called the King from the day he was born and having no equal to him.

Even Netero would have been killed by Meruem, if Meruem was aiming to kill. Having to resort to using a nuclear bomb on him which surprisingly doesn’t kill him on the spot. Leaving him to die of the radiation a few days later.

Having been only 40 days, yes days, old at the time of death, we never really get the chance to see Meruem at his full strength or reach his full potential and we will never know the heights he could’ve reached if given the chance.

6. Yhwach, the Quincy King (Bleach)

Yhwach, The quincy king is the main antagonist of Bleach’s Thousand Year Blood War arc, and one of the best antagonists of the series as well. With his power to bring almost everyone to their knees in his presence and beating out some of the strongest fighters in Bleach including Kenpachi Zaraki and Shigekuni Yamamoto without even using his full strength.

With his arsenal of various unique abilities and God-like strength even Kubo admits that he might have made Yhwach a bit too overpowered for the series. And when you have even your own creator thinking you’re too powerful, that says a lot.

5. Satoru Gojo (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Satoru Gojo might be a side character in the Jujutsu Kaisen world but no one can deny his strength and ability. With his domain of infinity it’s almost impossible for any other character in the JJK world to even compete with Gojo.

Gojo being so strong that when he was born the balance between sorcerers and demons shifted in the favor of sorcerers as demons could tell that a power that could not be compared was born.

4. Tetsuo Shima (Akira)

Tetsuo Shima is the main villain of the 1988 animated masterpiece Akira. With his latent abilities coming out in the movie, we only see a fraction of what Tetsuo could become before we see his body throughout the film morphing into something horrific. With his body unable to even contain his powers transforming him into something straight out of a Cronenberg film.

Of course, the power of Tetsuo was something even the military feared, believing Tetsuo to be strong enough to wipe Tokyo off the map. But, as we see, by the end of the film Tetsuo and his psychic capabilities make him strong enough to destroy the entire universe. Like Meruem he never really did ever reach his full potential.

3. Saitama (One Punch Man)

Don’t be fooled by his bald head and friendly exterior. Saitama is not only strong, he’s so strong most of his opponents can’t even handle one punch from this character. Considered so strong that his character instead of striving to find more strength has given up on even finding a worthy opponent any more and is instead just living his life like an ordinary citizen who fights crime on the side.

With the manga far ahead and showing him fighting galactic opponents there is no doubt that, One, his creator has made him the strongest being in his universe with not even many anime characters throughout other worlds that could even compare to his strength.

2. Goku (Dragon Ball Series)

The main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series is considered the bar by most anime viewers. With him in his latest series, Dragon Ball Super, you can see him fighting even the Gods of his universe (not to mention, multiverse) and being able to go hit for hit with them as well

The phrase “But can he beat Goku” has been used for memes and annoying fans but there us a reason why this phrase came about with Akira Toriyama taking the level of Goku even further than fans could even have imagined it’s no wonder people believe he is the strongest anime character of all time.

1. Anti-Spiral (Gurren Lagann)

While most fans are right to put Goku or Saitama up as their number 1 character of all time, anti-spiral is just a different beast altogether. While he is the main antagonist of the Gurren Lagann series, he is only heard of like a looming shadow in the beginning only showing himself near the end of the series, making him feel more and more threatening as the series goes on. And for good reason too.

Anti-Spiral is a 11th dimensional entity with his formless body and ability to manipulate not only the universe and time but reality itself as well. His most interesting ability is probability fluctuation which makes sure that no matter what happens, losing is not an option for him.

Making him all-powerful in the Gurren Lagann universe and most likely the strongest anime character of all time as well, with not even Saitama or Goku standing a chance against such an entity.
