The monthly dose of Community Days is still one of the most popular aspects of Pokemon GO, a date set for a special event for specific Pokemon with many bonuses and rewards all coming within the exclusive timeframe. Players can enjoy and plan on meeting to play with friends and add to the essential aspect of Pokemon GO; going out and enjoying the mobile title.
This month’s Community is set apart because the March Community Day Pokemon, Slowpoke, comes in two different forms, the normal and the Galarian. Each has multiple evolutionary lines, making Community Day a potentially fun one with much to do this Saturday the 18th.
The Community will be running from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, with players able to get the Community Day exclusive Move Surf learnable even after up to 5 more hours if they evolve their normal or Galarian Slowpoke into any of its forms. Both Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke will also have a chance to be shiny. Players will also be able to buy the Community Day exclusive Research for a dollar from the shop, with the option to buy and gift to friends also available if they’ve reached Good Friends status or more within the game.
For the bonuses this time around, there’s more XP and Candy for catching Pokemon, more chance to get XL candy, Lure Modules (Except for Golden Lure) and Incenses lasting for three hours, as well as a few others as well. Refer to the list below for all the bonuses during the event.

There’s also another exclusive perk to this Community as well, with players needing to catch 30 Psychic Type Pokemon now in order to evolve Galarian Slowpoke instead of needing to catch 30 Poison Type Pokemon. Slowpoke itself is a Water and Psychic Type and Galarian Slowpoke is a Psychic Type so they’ll be in ample during the event for players to conveniently get their evolutionary forms.
Aside from this, when the Community Day ends, there will also be a new exclusive timeframe for 4-star aids for both Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke on March 18th. From 5 pm till 10 pm, these raids will spawn and beating the Raid Pokemon will land you spawns of more Slowpoke in the vicinity. The chances of the Pokemon being shiny will be the same as they will be during Community Day, so players can look to play even after the Community Day officially ends.
Timed Research and Field Research tasks based around Slowpoke will also be available, with King’s Rock the prize. For those that don’t know, King’s Rock is an item that is used to evolve Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke into exclusive Evolutionary forms aside from the normal evolutions.
And lastly, as always, stickers and accessories themed around Slowpoke will also be available in the shop.
This month’s Community Day looks to be a tad different, hence more interesting and fun for Pokemon GO players. There’s also much to enjoy outside of the CDay exclusivity however, for example with the Team Rocket takeover event currently happening in the game, with prizes such as shiny Meltan, other newer and more frequent Pokemon spawns, alongside many other new things. There is also a chance that Golden Lures will pop up during the event as well for getting Gimmighoul coins. Hence if you were looking to give the game a try, you can join up with local Pokemon GO community players to meet up with and give it a whirl on March 18th. There’s also much more to look forward to in real life as Niantic has previously announced some new support for real-life Pokemon GO communities such as the Ambassador Program and more.
