Pokemon GO: Special July Events

With the July Content Update showcasing some of the best-looking Raids and Spotlight Hours and more for Pokemon GO, Niantic also listed all the special events coming to the mobile title in July. As far as indications from their names go, it’s looking like some of the best events are coming ahead, and it doesn’t even include the Pokemon GO Fest.

Seemingly every event looks to cover a different aspect within the mobile title, from Battling to Community Days, there’s much to cover. There are a total of 7 events listed on the July Content Update, here is the list of em and our idea of what they could contain:

GO Battle Weekend:

The Event streak is looking to start with plenty of rewards for players opting to do Player Battles. It will run from 12 AM to 11:59 PM local time on from July 1st to the 2nd. The event rewards likely look to be all from battle-win bonuses such as bonus Stardust, bonus Candy, and even Battle-themed Timed Research.

Players whose preference for gameplay is battles are sure to be hyped for this coming ahead.

7th Anniversary Party:

This looks to be a big celebration coming to the Anniversary of the highly successful mobile title, and a long one at that. This event will run from July 6th to July 12th from 10 AM to 8 PM local time.

Rewards would look to include in almost everything, as it’ll be a celebration of the whole game, so players could be getting some rare spawns, bonuses to Candy, Stardust, Items, and maybe even some special boxes available for the anniversary. There could also be brand-new Timed Research as well as Field Research. The month of July won’t look to slow down when it comes to rewards during all of July’s events.

Community Day Classic:

Community Day Classic once again returns to Pokemon GO, this time being for the beloved Kanto Water Starter, Squirtle. The Community Day Classic will be on July 9th, through the 7th Anniversary Party Event, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time.

As it happened with the original Community Day, Squirtle will spawn very frequently during the duration, with its shiny form also available if players are lucky enough to encounter one. The Special Charged Move for Evolving Squirtle to its final evolution, Blastoise, is also coming back; Hydro Cannon will be learnable to any Wartortle that Evolves into Blastoise during the event, and also up to 2 more hours till 7 PM on July 9th.

Additionally, also making a return is the Black Glasses Squirtle, a connotation to the Pokemon Anime’s Squirtle who is a part of the Squirtle Squad.

Community Day Classic bonuses will also be live which are listed below:
1. Egg Hatch Distance will be cut by 1/4 if players incubate any egg during the event.
2. Lure Modules will last for 3 hours.
3. Incenses will also last for 3 hours, excluding the free Daily Incense.
4. Snapshots during the Community Day Classic will hold a surprise.

This Community Day Classic has been teased early so players could plan to get together and enjoy. Players will also be able to enjoy the 7th Anniversary Party through this so both events’ bonuses will be live together, giving players many rewards if they play Pokemon GO.

Catching Some Z’s:

This peculiar event will run from July 15th to the 16th, 10 AM to 8 PM local time. Although speculative, this event looks to bring many rewards for players that catch Pokemon, hence the event could include increased spawns, maybe even rare ones. It could also look to reward players with many items such as Candy, Stardust, or even Mega Energy. The duration looks to be small, only for 2 days, but it could hold some big things.

Maybe it could include Snorlax, the Sleeping Chonk, as it has been getting the limelight for the past few days as well. Also, although this is speculation now, but maybe it could have something to do with Pokemon Sleep?

Riolu Hatch Day:

Riolu has always been one of the most favourite Pokemon in the franchise. Alongside its evolution, Lucario, the Gen 4 Fighting/Steel type has been and still is a very powerful option to use in battles, raids, and even just for basic collecting purposes. Hence this event is looking to be a fan-favourite, featuring Riolu.

The event will run on a single day, July 22nd, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. As obviously in the heading, it will feature the increased chance of hatching Riolu from eggs; the only manner in which players can currently get Riolu in the game. What’s more important is that it may also have higher odds of players hatching a shiny Riolu, or even higher IV Riolu during the event period.

This event would take advantage of Incubators so the event could even contain some special discounts on Incubators, maybe even a box of Incubators for a really good price. Regardless, this event comes as highly anticipated by Pokemon GO players and players would surely look to mark their calendars for this event if they’re thinking of skipping the others.

Adventure Week:

Like what came before last year, Adventure Week is making a return this year as well. This event will run from July 27th – August 2nd, from 10 AM – 8 PM local time.

If it follows the same streak that the last Adventure Week followed, this event will come with some brand new Pokemon coming as spawns in the world, so players will be encouraged to go out and explore and find many new Pokemon. It would also include new Research featuring brand-new Pokemon encounters and much more. This also looks to include the brand new Mega Evolution for Tyranatar coming at the end of the month of July, so players wouldn’t want to miss out on this.

Community Day:

Lastly, Community Day for July will be on the 30th, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, and it will run through the Adventure Week event. This means that there will be Community Day rewards, as well as Adventure Week rewards coming side by side for players to include July, the perfect way to start the month of August ahead which will conduct the Pokemon GO Fest 2023.

This looks to be a very peculiar month coming ahead, as previously it was looking to be a bland month as the Pokemon GO Fest was coming in August. But now, it looks like July will have its own share of content worthy to play for in Pokemon GO.
