It has been a long seven years since Pokemon GO was released worldwide, taking headlines and taking the road to becoming one of the most successful mobile software videogame titles in the world. This new event comes as one of the many July events incoming ahead, with many rewards, including brand new Pokemon debuts as well as many older favourites, but most importantly it comes with everything that players would want from the game to start playing it once more if they left Pokemon GO before.
The rewards and bonuses for this event are big, with spawns coming for all starter Pokemon from Gen 1 to Gen 7. Bonuses are also here that give players almost all game advantages for catching Pokemon, incubating eggs, exploring areas and more.
The New Debut:
Squirtle is coming as a costume Pokemon for this event alongside other starters, with Wartortle and Blastoise having their costume version also available. The Gen 1 Water Starter line will have party hats as well as their shiny form available through this event.
The Starter Spawns:
For every single day of this event, a different lineup of starter Pokemon will be available in the world as special spawns to all players. For July 6th it was the Kanto Starter lineup, for July 7th it’ll be the Johto Starter lineup, and so on till the event concludes after July 12th. Here is the list of all the starter Pokemon coming as special spawns and the days that players will be able to catch them:
July 6th – Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander, with party hat costumes, as well as shiny forms for all three.
July 7th – Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil, all three having their shiny forms available.
July 8th – Treeko, Mudkip and Torchic, all of their shiny forms available too.
July 9th – Turtwig, Piplup and Chimchar, all of their shiny forms also available.
July 10th – Snivy, Oshawott and Tepig, all shiny forms also available.
July 11th – Chespin, Froakie and Fennekin, only Froakie missing its shiny form, rest two’s shiny forms available.
July 12th – Rowlet, Popplio and Litten available.
Wild Spawns:
The Starter Spawns are not the only ones in the spawn lineup during this event, as there are plenty of other encounters. Players will have a chance to encounter Galarian Ponyta and Absol, their shiny forms also in the game. For normal wild spawns, there will also be a Special Pikachu with the 7th Anniversary Cake Hat, as well as increased spawns for Ponyta, Meowth, Squirtle and Togedemaru.
Bonuses:
Bonuses are active during the event as well, with each new day bringing a new bonus. Here is the list of all the bonuses:
July 7th will have a 2X Stardust bonus for catching Pokemon.
July 8th will have a 2X Candy bonus for catching Pokemon.
July 9th will have a 1/2 Egg Hatching Distance when players incubate eggs during the bonus duration.
July 10th will feature a 2X increase in Friendship levels.
July 11th will give 2X the Candy for transferring Pokemon.
And lastly, the last day July 12th, will have a 2X XP bonus for evolving Pokemon.
This is not the only thing however, as for the whole duration of the 7th Anniversary Event, players will have a chance to get Gimmighoul coins if they manage to find and spin Golden Pokestops.
Additionally, players will also have an increased chance to become lucky friends with other players in the game, through trades and through gifts.
Raids:
A big Kanto Lineup is also here for Raids in the 7th Anniversary event. Mega Blastoise will be available in Mega Raids. The Legendary Bird Trio from Kanto are available in the 5-Star Legendary raids, with some popular Kanto Pokemon like Snorlax and Lapras coming in 3-Star raids. For 1-Star raids, the Kanto Starter trio with celebratory hats as well as the Cake-Hat Pikachu will be up to battle and obtain. All the Pokemon mentioned over here also have their shiny forms available so players can get lucky if they decide on playing Pokemon GO.
Research:
Field Research Tasks will accommodate starter Pokemon such as Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil and many others, with Mega Energy also coming as a reward for completion. Players will be able to get mega energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken and Swampert.
Timed Research:
There is also a special Timed Research that will expire when the anniversary event ends, but it looks to come with plenty of good rewards in tow.
For 2$, players can get the rewards like a Super Incubator, an Incubator, Lucky Egg, Starpiece, a Premium Battle pass and much more. There will also be a 77,777 XP reward alongside Party-hat Pikachu encounters for players that purchase and use this Timed Research Ticket.
There is also a big Ticket up for purchase in the game. the All-In-One #151. This one comes for 5$ and will give players the Masterwork Research Story whose ultimate reward will be an encounter with Shiny Mew. This story will not expire after the event ends and will give players many extra bonuses during the current event.

Accessories:
Plenty of other goodies are also here, with new clothing accessories for player avatars in the game as well as new 7th Anniversary-themed stickers.
Overall there is plenty of stuff to enjoy as this event comes as a verily huge commemoration for the mobile-running game that is now reached its 7th year in. It is still not looking to slow down any time soon, with much more coming ahead this month and the grand Pokemon GO Fest 2023 in August.
